WoW #1: Onyx

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases. As this is my first WoW post (I know, I’m late to the game), I only find it fitting that I highlight a book that I have been counting down to have in my hot little hands. Plus, you can read the first two chapters here!

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Release Date: August 14, 2012

Publisher: Entangled Teen

Pages: 416

Goodreads Blurb:

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.

Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…
The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.

But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies

I have been stalking the ‘net with teasers and would love love love to obtain an ARC (sadly, no luck). The Lux series has slowly grown on me. I read the first book, OBSIDIAN, a while back and didn’t immediately fall in love. Yeah, Daemon is one of the hotter leads that I’ve read in a while, but I remember feeling that his push/pull maneuvers towards Katy were a turn off. However, after reading the prequel SHADOWS, I felt that I understood the reasoning behind Daemon’s attitude in the first book. I decided to do a re-read of OBSIDIAN and bam! I am now on the Daemon love train.
